VISIT VANDENBERG', a special REEFMAKERS™ ( www.reefmakers.com) event held in Norfolk, Virginia included guided tours of the ship: The USAFS General Hoyt S. Vandenberg, soon to be sunk as an artificial reef in the waters off of Key West, Florida.

Special guest speakers covered informational topics from environmentally preparing the ship, to the importance of alleviating pressure on the natural reefs by providing artificial ones, such as the Vandenberg.

RCC specializes in solving environmental problems, and is addressing the issue of making the Vandenberg innocuous to its surrounding waters.
As Project Manager, RCC will be planning and coordinating the cleaning, towing and scuttling of the Vandenberg.
RCC is also taking charge of the technical and regulatory aspects of the project.

RCC assists client proactively...

RCC was recently contracted by one of our major oil clients to design and implement a risk assessment program at over 600 active service stations that do not have previous reported environmental problems or releases. RCC Program Management experience will assist this client with proactive risk management. This type of proactive approach will save significant expense by proactively addressing risks rather than just reactive response after problems have occurred.

RCC has recently implemented start up and shakedown of a remediation system for an in situ remedial action plan with ISCO using ozone gas. This project site has significant impacts of chlorinated hydrocarbon compounds (PCE and TCE) to subsurface soil, groundwater, sediments, and surface water.
